‘I wonder what happened to that choir – what were they called, now? Was it The Gladys Solomon Sound? The Gadfly Slow-Worm Sound?‘
Possibly this question has been on the lips of anxious loyal readers of our web-site, after the Two-Year Covid Cultural Shutdown. The answer is that THE GLADLY SOLEMN SOUND is still here – having had a year off, and then another practicing outside (including all through the winter of 2021/22).
In fact we’d love you to come along to either or both of two imminent concerts: the first is at Gressingham Church, 7.00 PM on Wednesday 19th October [Sadly this concert has had to be postponed – check our Concerts page here to find out when it will be rescheduled]; the second at Glasson Dock Church at 7.30 on the 29th of the same month.
We’ll be presenting our usual fare – West Gallery Church Music from about 200 years ago, with a leavening of secular pieces and readings.
I think we can promise an evening both interesting and entertaining, and would be delighted to welcome you!
Paul Guppy, Choir Leader
